This video was going around recently and I felt I needed to put it up ... you know, technically, historically, you could argue that she is correct. The original, pre-George Romero zombies were most likely poor Haitian laborers, and therefore likely black ... but I'm not sure she's aware of all that. Either way, it's a funny clip. "You shut up, lady!"

In other news, as the holiday approaches and you're wondering what to give that paranormal romance fantasy lover on your list ... let me help you out with that. Big announcement: The price is reduced to 99 cents! Let the stocking stuffing begin!

If you prefer an Amazon version for your Kindle, go here ... but wait for the price reduction to kick in, that may take a few hours. Ho ho ho!

So, to celebrate the return of "The Walking Dead," Hyundai has an app that lets you configure one of their vehicles into a zombie survival car, then they'll actually build one and show it at Comic-Con in New York, which starts in two days. ...

So there ya go. I will have some news of my own related to the show's return, but it won't be quite as exciting as that. It will revolve around a different kind of zombie than what you see on the show, though. Stay turned! I mean, tuned.

Spotted recently at a kiddie store ... hopefully it won't come to this.

All right, summer is on and I have been bad about updating this blog. I apologize. Colder weather will be on the way before too long and I will be inside more often!

In other news, I spotted a black Jeep the other day with some white lettering on the side of the hood: It said something like "Zombie Survival Vehicle." It was going by so I did not get a picture. If I see it again, I'll be sure to post one.

And, stay tuned for some book news related to the upcoming date of Oct. 13. It may or may not be related to this.

Another Movie Review

I was in New York City over the Fourth of July weekend and it was insanely hot, so on one afternoon I ducked into an air-conditioned theater and watched "World War Z."

It was OK but the zombies just looked fake, at least when they formed into big swarms. One on one they were pretty good. Too much CGI for my taste, in general, though.

I was kind of surprised by how standardized the zombie rules have become, though, the kind of thing that was parodied by "Zombieland" a while back, and by "The Walking Dead." They are drawn to sound; only a head shot will kill them; that sort of thing.

Warning! Blatant commercial plug coming up. If you'd like to see a different take on zombies, I invite you to read "Mama Lona's Man." Just a thought. Or, for you Amazon fans, click here.

So, was on a plane recently and watched "Warm Bodies," a zombie romance film. I meant to see it earlier but had forgotten all about it. It was only when I read the description that I remembered I wanted to see it. It was pretty cute. Still didn't quite catch on to the difference between the zombies and the "skeletons," but did not think too hard about it. Recommended!

Still have not seen "World War Z." Not very excited about that one.
